#MyHuntleyStory | Santa Monica Getaway

December 15, 2018

I am so excited to share a quick getaway I took with Sophie a couple of weeks ago to The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica!  This spot is the perfect little escape just steps away from the beach!

Recently renovated in 2017, The Huntley is located in a residential neighborhood and is absolutely breathtaking.  Every room has a view of either the ocean or the city! It definitely has a calm vibe but is walking distance to the 3rd Street Promenade, beach, and some really great restaurants.

The staff is super friendly and helpful!  I needed a mini fridge in the room since I was traveling with Sophie and had to store milk for her.  They brought the fridge up right away, no problem! The rooms are spacious, light, and airy with the cutest amenities.  Hello Sugarfina candies and Bvlgari bath and body products!  Their rooms have spa-style bathrooms, which of course is a plus.

We ate all but one of our meals at their rooftop restaurant, The Penthouse. On the 18th floor, the restaurant has panoramic views of the city, mountains, and ocean which makes the sunsets unreal!  I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Not only is the setting breathtaking but the food is seriously so good. Everything is so fresh and delicious! All of their fish is flown in fresh and the produce is sourced from local farms.

My recommendations for lunch: the Wild Caught Fish Tacos, Vegetarian Caprese Sandwich, and the Yellow Fin Tuna Poke Bowl for lunch.  P.S. the steak fries are to die for, definitely get a side of these! We came back for Sunset Hour and dinner. I cannot stress enough how amazing the views are! My dinner recommendations: Truffle Pizzetta, ORA King Salmon, Beets & Goat Salad, and the Hokkaido Scallops.   Since we enjoyed lunch and dinner so much we of course had to come back for breakfast. Their pastries and Banana Foster French Toast are a must!

Overall the experience was so amazing.  If you plan on spending time in Santa Monica or live close The Huntley and The Penthouse are a must visit.

I was a little nervous traveling with Sophie without Michael but we had such a great time!  I  wanted to share a few of my favorite items I used while traveling.  The first was my belt bag.  I am seriously obsessed!  It was so great being handsfree since I was in and out of meetings and had Sophie with me all day!  My diaper backpack was so helpful. All of the pockets and different compartments are a lifesaver.  I also brought this travel crib. It is super lightweight and compact which makes it so easy to travel with.  Last but not least I have been using my iPad Mini to put on Baby Einstein for Sophie when she gets fussy.

Let me know what your must-haves are when traveling with your baby in the comments below!
